Excellent summary of Request to Pay - thank you! One important correction is needed though: in the beginning of the article you very aptly highlight the importance of proxies (email or mobile number) to the success of RtP. However, neither Pay.uk’s RtP framework, nor (to my best knowledge) SEPA RTP rule book include any requirements of a proxy. In fact, UK RtP relies on an artificial identifier that is not searchable due to the decentralised nature of the service. This important omission must be addressed by Pay.UK to ensure the uptake of the service

Great article! Something we're doing in Aus is RtP with a long-lived mandate. That is "I authorise you to request payment for $x on an ad hoc basis" or "I authorise you to take up to $y every week" called PayTo.
